The father of most of the known techniques here in America. A must-read for any actor.

The first book I read on the Meisner Technique. I quickly fell in love and was in search of a class to take.

Although a different technique than Meisner, They were both members of the group theater so share similarities in their techniques.

A former student of Sanford Meisner. Bill Esper provides us with an amazing book and journey through the first year experience at his studio.

Year 2 of Bill Esper’s studio explores character and the dealings of pain, physical impediment, etc. You’re definitely going to want to read this one too!

This book gives you a plethora of resources regarding what is needed to progress as an actor. A good resource book for quick references.

One of the books I decided to listen to. Plenty of advice on having a great audition and being prepared.

This book is a 12-week program that helps you open creative avenues within your mind and gives you a whole new perspective on yourself, your art, and the abilities your subconscious represses. It’s filled with tasks that will definitely help you discover.

Even if you don’t want to be a filmmaker its always great to understand the skillset and demands of the people you work with, this book provides that along with a list of resources along the way.

A wonderful book by a wonderful woman. This is highly recommended if you want to be prepared and treat your acting career as a business. Acting is not just the auditions and this book guides you on what types of training you need, financial organization, casting websites, and things to the avoid. Reading this can help you avoid a lot of pitfalls in your journey.

No matter if you loved The Office or not. Jenna’s book gives you a sense of sympathy as she navigates her life and its struggles before booking the beloved role of Pam on the Office

Another great book on various aspects of being a screen actor and some differences from the stage.

I had the pleasure of meeting the author of this book on set. I’ll admit I might have forgotten what “magic hour” was and she quickly reminded me. This is a great book to put in your actor bag and take with you to set. With all the creative yet common lingo on set, having this book at hand will help you quickly understand the language of the crew. Tell her Hosea DeMarzino sent you!
