Hi Actors!

Guess what?! Pilot season is soon approaching and i’m sending you all positive energy that you’ll book those roles and/or book that room!

But what if you don’t have an Agent/Manager yet to see those juicy roles and upcoming TV shows? If you’ve exhausted your other options or are looking to add an representation to your team then Talent Link may be a great opportunity for you!

What is Talent Link?

  • Talent Link is a service by Actors Access/ Breakdown Services that is offered to actors who are seeking new talent representation. This service costs $35 for one month; which is not recurring. Actor’s Access posts a memo to agents and managers about 4x a month with an active link directing them to your videos, pictures, and resume on your profile. LA and NY submissions are separated and you must choose which you are submitting for.

How does it work?

  • Any Agents/Managers that receives breakdown service of that location will see Talent Link posted on their daily breakdown as a memo. Once a rep clicks on the memo they will see a single headshot of each of the actors that have submitted for that release. In addition, in the notes section it will detail what type of representation you are seeking. If they are interested in setting up a meeting, they can email Breakdown Services who will then forward those inquiries to YOU!

Actors this is an awesome opportunity to put yourself in front of Los Angeles and New York Talent Agents and Managers. It has been said to be very successful with more than half the actors in each group receiving multiple responses. However, there is some house keeping things you must keep in mind before submitting and investing that $35.

  • Make sure your Marketing Materials are in order!

    • This means making sure your resume is up to date and formatted correctly with production companies/directors, correct billing, no character names excluding theater, training, skills and physical attributes etc.

  • Have Great Video Media !

    • Video is a very important aspect of a successful submission. Representatives want to see your talent. You can have a great headshot but still the representative has no clue on your ability, personality, what you sound like, energy, etc.

  • Be prepared to Travel

    • If you are not in LA/NY or have the resources to travel there with little notice then it is NOT Recommended you submit for Talent Link.

If you don’t have these materials put that $35 to the side and work on getting your materials together and preparing for the next opportune time to submit. In Bonnie Gillespie’s book “Self-Management for Actors” she indicates the best times to submit for representation are April when agencies are cleaning house from non-booking talent, Oct to Mid-December as they are preparing for the upcoming pilot season.
